PIGSKIN, HOT DOGS, & TOUCHDOWNS . . . OH MY!

Hip . . . hip . . . HOORAY!  I finally finished my football packet.  I neglected my poor sweet hubs most of last night to wrap it all up and post it.  The poor boy was cleaning the floors and wipin' down the kitchen all by his lonesome.  I'd like to say it was all part of my master plan . . . finish unit and avoid cleaning, but  I was so in the zone I didn't even realize what he was doing!  Goodness me.  I did keep my promise though.  We finally sat down TOGETHER to watch Restaurant Impossible at 11:30 (thank goodness for DVR - it was a good one). I must say that there's nothin' like a little quality time.  Well, uh . . . after you get that packet uploaded :)

Ultimately, this packet helps me live my obsession for pigskin in all aspects of my life.  I get so jacked up during the start of football season that this theme is a very "easy sell" in my room.

I have run with this mini-unit for three years now and boys and girls alike really tend to dig these activities (some crafts are pictured above).  In addition to letting some serious football fever into my classroom, it also has been the perfect way to teach the idea of teamwork to my new crew of kiddos.

I had it all pretty in my photo collage program and hit the wrong button . . . grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
So, now it's a sloppy mess.  I just couldn't face building another one from scratch.
But . . . maybe this fits the JAM-PACKED idea??
I designed this puppy to work in 1-2 grade classrooms and it's jam-packed (see my sloppy photo above).  It also comes with a fun little teamwork tune from Ron Brown's Intelli-Tunes.  Surprised?  (Um, thank you dad!)  Hehehe . . . check out the sample below.

Boy, after reading all of my mumbo jumbo, you deserve a treat.  How about a little football-flavored freebie on this fine Thursday?

NO shoulder pads are required for this one :)

If you teach older kiddos, I came across the coolest sports packet from Teaching in Room 6.  It's all about setting goals and it has a fun football- themed ditty in it.  Be sure to check it out!!

Almost out of here today . . . but I've got a quick shout out before I jet.  Have you seen Katie King's sweet classroom decor sets??  They are to die for.  And, guess who got hooked up with her very own set this morning?  It pays to have sweet and wonderful friends in high places!  Be sure to check out Katie's blog for all of her latest and greatest room design ideas.  It's inspiring :)

That's it folks.  I will catch ya again soon.  Thank you so much for taking the time to visit me today.  I hope it's a great one :)
