We had a super turnout our First Grade Awards Night this evening. The classroom was packed and the kids were all "prettied" up. Before the night got underway, I began to launch into my annual thank you speech and the moment I opened my mouth, I turned into a blubbering idiot. I cried like a baby when I talked about this extra special class. I managed to get it under control by the time I finished, but it took multiple stupid jokes to get me there :). The icing on the cake . . . how could there be more you ask? I have the super's son. Oh yes, I bawled in front of my BIG boss. MORTIFYING!! However, my words were genuine and every single teardrop was filled with love. I think the parents and kids felt that. We've got .5 more to go and I know I've got more in me. I definitely will be wearing my darkest sunglasses during our final trip to the bus line tomorrow.
Today was such fun. The kids participated in my student scavenger hunt and enjoyed every minute of it. I loved watching them rush from card to card as a team to READ (yes, read) those words out loud with ease. My buttons were popping. Can you tell . . . I like this group just a little bit?!!??!
If you are interested in snagging this fun end of the year Student Scavenger Hunt pack, it is currently available in my TPT Store for free. It comes with both pre-made and blank sets of task cards!
Well . . . I am calling it quits tonight my bloggy buddies. Short and sweet. My plans are still a little "fuzzy" for our last day, but I am tuckin' myself into bed ASAP and I'll iron 'em out in the am! Thanks so much for visiting and I'll see you tomorrow :)
Good luck tomorrow and have fun!
