With Grandparents Day right around the corner (September 8th to be exact), I wanted to get my own ducks in a row. This quickly led to the birth of my latest packet . . . Thank Goodness for Grandparents. My goal was to create a series of easy and very low-prep activities that we could grab, copy, and use. Things are crazy this time of year and our babes' attention spans don't have the stamina to survive a long-winded project (at least in my world right now). With this said, I needed a handful of themed things that wouldn't make me want to pull my hair out :) Here's what I came up with . . .
This puppy has a mini-book, interview idea, letter writing templates, Grandparents Day card activity, bubble + can/have/are charts, a word search, and a classroom grandparent event idea/invite. All of the activities include multiple templates to allow for classroom and grade level differentiation. In addition, I know that not all kiddos are lucky enough to have a grandparent in their lives (I miss mine daily). Therefore, I opted to include "grandfriend" templates as well.
I think my favorite thing is the silly card - You're One In a Million. I couldn't sleep last night and I wanted something that the kids could complete without a ton of prep or paper on my end. Pay no attention to my SCARE to the BIG FAT EEEEEEEEE art! As we say in school . . . I tried my best ;)
I somehow managed to talk Ron Brown's Intelli-Tunes into offering up a FREE Grandparents song in this pack . . . wink . . . wink!! It's the sweetest little ditty and it makes me cry. I included the lyrics for you to take a peek at down below. CLICK HERE to take a little listen.

If you have a grandparent in your life . . . don't forget to give them a big old hug or phone call this week. What I wouldn't give for just one more moment. |

Sooooo sweet!!! My grandmother used to help my mom in her classroom from time to time. Both ladies loved it and so did the students. Thanks for taking the time to write. This made my heart happy :)
DeleteSo sweet! My grandma just turned 91 yesterday!
