CONTRACTIONS . . . AS EASY AS PUMPKIN PIE

Hooray . . . I finished it folks!  This contraction pack has been rollin' around in my crowded brain for what seems like an eternity.  However, yesterday it all came together!  I give you . . . Contractions: As Easy as Pumpkin Pie.  (Oh, and a freebie too!  It's hiding down there!!)

My kiddos have been saying "easy as pie" lately in class - something a teacher loves to hear, because (1) you taught the standard oh so well and your kids are feeling successful (2) you can raise the bar again!  So, I parlayed this concept into a packet with a little dash of holiday flavor.

This collection has a contraction introduction (pocket chart sort), Contraction Rap by Ron Brown's Intelli-Tunes, center games, and a number of independent activities/worksheets.

In addition, this contraction pack has an Easy As Pie Craftivity that the kiddos eat up every year . . . snicker . . . snicker . . . eat up.  It looks great on the wall and it's one that you don't feel the need to rip down right after Thanksgiving Break.

You can have the kids use the optional labels or hand write the contractions.
There is just something about that "whipped cream" that cracks the kids up.
This pic is from my very first year of teaching . . . they all look a little jacked and that's what I love about them.
NOTE: This was right before I took it down.  I slapped up that Christmas boarder over Turkey Break
Then, I was able to throw up a new craft with ease (when I got around to it).
Well, I couldn't have you go through all of that without a little freebie, now could I??!!  NOPE!  And, It has been much too long since I offered a little goodie up! So, below you will find a selection from my pack - My Little Book of Contractions.  It's pretty self-explanatory.  They write a contraction on the top line, write a sentence using that contraction, and draw a corresponding picture. My writing center for at least two days this week . . . CHECK!

She is my new fave!  Go check her out :)

Alright friends . . . I am off to finish up this week's lesson plans and work on my latest pack.  I am out of coffee so I will see how far I get.  Might need to take a little field trip in an hour or so.  If you are interested in scoring my whole Contraction Pack, visit my TPT Shop for more details.

Oh, and I did want to show you . . . the "after."  It ain't great, but at least it doesn't look like yesterday's disaster :)  Thanks for visiting my friends.  I'll see you soon.
