PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCE PREP + FREEBIE

Okay, so I totally expected to blog about something completely different today, but didn't get my act together in time.  My real job took precedence and I am still running to catch up. (This seems like my life story as of late.)  The beginning of the year is always crazy, but our school loves to up the ante by adding parent/teacher conferences into the mix in week five.  Breathe, Dolling. JUST BREATHE.

With this said, I wanted to have my ducks in a row before that first parent walks into my door during our early release day tomorrow.  SO, I bailed on finishing up my Punctuation Packet and jumped into a little Parent-Teacher Conference Freebie instead!!!

I was making these for myself, so I figured I might as well roll it into a neat little package to share.  I am a little OCD when it comes to welcoming parents during conferences.  My goal is to help parents feel at ease right off the bat. Therefore, I always put a welcome sign on my door and post a list of the day's conference schedule.  In addition to setting the "stage," I have found that this extra effort cuts down on the number of parents who accidently walk in on the meeting that proceeds them.

This round I had to add the part about cell phones - sad, I know.  Last year a parent actually texted back and forth with a friend under the table during her entire conference.  I was mortified.  Oh, and another parent pulled her cell phone out of her bra to answer a call in the middle of our chat.  I was doubly mortified.  This year I am getting proactive I tell ya!  Silence those phones pretty please :)  #yourchilddeservesyourattention

I made this conference schedule pack editable.  Simply open the Power Point to the desired blank slide, insert a text box and start typing away.  I provided a sample to show you how I am going to use the template.  CLICK HERE to grab this free poster/sign pack!

Alright, I am off to finish filling out my conference benchmark forms and catch the end of the Niner/Seahawks Game.  I am 1/2 way through these babies and I want to wrap things up so I can cross something off of my list.  I thrive off of DARK BLACK lines scribbled through to-do memos!!!  #typeA

Love using my Flair Pens on these . . . it's the little things!
These Parent Conference Forms are part of my For Your InFORMation Packet.

  2. My goodness, how did we survive before the days of cell phones? Imagine all those years we waited 20 minutes (or more) to take a call. Now, sarcasm aside, I do like the emergency convenience of cell phones. I know if my daughter gets stuck on the highway she can call for help. But I don't understand the urgency of taking calls during meetings, in church!, while driving, etc.! (I guess that's my little pet peeve!) On a more positive note: THANK YOU for this freebie. It's super. And I'm checking out your other packet on TpT as well.

  6. Kelley,
I just saw your name in the PK1 Conference packet! (Weird name for a great conference.). Last year I didn't pay attention and signed up for a different session. My mistake! My session was awful (the two presenters did not get along - it was definitely not boring, but I was extremely uncomfortable -EXTREMELY!!!). Fran said your session was fabulous so I turned green with envy. Luckily, all my other sessions were wonderful. I am so glad that you are visiting us in the Bay Area again! Hurrah! See you in January!
    Love to you,
    Camille
