I had a wonderful appointment with a new dietitian to try and get my digestion system under control. She was and will be a wealth of knowledge and I am glad to have her working on my "issues" . . . HOWEVER . . . I just kissed dairy and gluten goodbye! I have been here before, but it's not making letting these fabulous foods go any easier. With this said, I am going to pay a quick little tribute to the foods that will either be consumed by my iron-gut hubby or rot waiting for me in the fridge. I HEART you Laughing Cow triangles, leftover pepperoni pizza slice (there would have been a fight over this . . . the nutritionist may have just saved our marriage), soft and squishy french bread rolls, and ice cold PBR. I will make it back to you someday!
Okay . . . enough nonsense, now on to my end of the year FREEBIE. We have 4.5 more days left at good old Evergreen. I will be returning Tuesday after nearly 12 weeks off to finish those last 3.5!! I am so excited and I've been working on all sorts of fun stuff to do with the kiddies. My main goal next week is to keep that classroom family spirit flowing and to make sure they all "feel the love." So . . . I made up a fun activity called Awesome Awards.
I'll break out the glitter when we do these at school . . . just to make 'em extra fancy. |
My kids are going to draw names one afternoon and create personalized awards for their classmates. We will brainstorm award ideas (i.e. helping during groups, the best at sharing, great attitude) and I'll let 'em get down to business. When we finish, I am going to have the children present the awards to each other. I think this is going to be a great feel good activity. Stay tuned for pictures :)

Let's see . . . oh yeah . . . FINAL REMINDER time! Today is the last day to enter my Rockin' Resources Giveaway (THIS CONTEST HAS ENDED... WINNER TO BE ANNOUNCED SHORTLY). It also is a great time to join my very first Linky Party as it gets you multiple entries in the contest. For those of you who haven't entered, the prize is HUGE. We're talkin' the Fonts for Teachers computer program, Teddy Bear Press sight word readers, 2 CDs of choice from Intelli-Tunes, double dice, mini-cards, and a few other top secret items. It will be almost as good as winning the lottery :) Click on the button below to to learn more about the LINKY PAR-TAY!
Last but not least, I am hookin' up with Jeannie over at Kindergarten Lifestyle and her "You Know It's Summer When..." Linky. The whole concept just sucked me right in and I wrote the first thing that came to mind! After checking out the other party goers, it seems as if I am not the only one who feels this way :)
Check in tomorrow my friends as I will be announcing the big winner. I am off to prep for next week . . . look out Evergreen . . . Mrs. D's coming back! See you soon my friends!
The bathroom has definitely been a common theme! That tells you how much relief we get this time of year! :)

Tales From Outside the Classroom
Doesn't it??? I never drink enough H2O at home, because I am conditioned to wait until after 2pm to have even the smallest of sips :). Thanks for poppin' in!
DeleteOMG The bathroom one is so true. HaHa. That's probably the worst part of the school day! I love the award idea. I think I'm going to use it next week. I'm looping with my students so I'm trying VERY hard to ensure we end the year as "one big happy family." :)

Dirty Hands and Lesson Plans
You are looping . . . I am sooooo jealous. Next year is going to be absolutely golden for you. I rolled up with 11 of my babes this year and lucked out with the new 9 that I snagged. It made for the best year I have had as a teacher (and maybe ever will have), Thanks for popping in Katie.
DeleteThe award idea is so wonderful. I hope I have a chance to use it in my last 2.5 days. I have such a sweet class that I know they would come up with some very kind words!

Owl Things First
Thanks so much for coming back by Jenny!
DeleteLOL!!! Only a teacher could understand that bathroom reference. I'm heading on over to join the linky party (I finally have my list narrowed down). Enjoy the last days with your students.

A Cupcake for the Teacher
Hiya Teri. Thanks for poppin' in!
DeleteI love the idea of the award and the kiddos making them for each other. Those are going to be so precious and sweet. I will be doing that next year for sure and tying it in with the helpful heart bracelets we make.
ReplyDeleteLife without cheese would be very hard for me but I can relate to the tummy problems because I have Chrons.

Heather's Heart
Thanks for the visit Heather. Tummy problems are the worst, aren't they??!! The no dairy thing is going to be tough for me. I am having Almond Milk in my coffee this morning, but it's not all that bad :)
DeleteYES I completely agree about the bathroom idea! LOL. That's a great one! Thanks for the awesome awards idea also. Not much longer until summer vacation now!! :)

Learning Is Something to Treasure
Lisa, my bloggy friend. Thanks so much for hoppin' on over! I still have to figure out the bathroom/no water "sitch" for a few more days . . . Yikes :)
DeleteDefinitely a good thing when we can go to the bathroom whenever we would like and not wait on a bell!
