Now that we got that silly business out of the way, I want to move on to something that blows my mind. Uh, can you believe that it's already going to be May? I have NO IDEA where April went. It absolutely floors me that this school year will be over in a little more than a month.
With this said, I always freak out a bit when it comes to that final assessment period. I don't know about you, but I always ponder of all the things I didn't get to target as much as I would have liked. Don't get me wrong . . . I'm not talking about gaping holes. However, I look back about this time of year and think OMGOSH . . . I haven't touched on telling time again. Or, WOW, we still need more adjective practice. It drives me bonkers . . . who knew finding an ounce of time could be so difficult. Do you ever get like this?
This year has been especially freaky. If you follow me, you know that we have a new math program that {in my humble opinion} leaves holes and often confuses the babes. I have been creating and supplementing like crazy (hence the hand injury me thinks), but one thing has saved my bacon more than anything this year - GOOD MORNING WORK.
I use these packets every morning and it has kept me on track. I know that my babes are getting a sampling of everything they will need to know when they walk out my door come June 13th. With this said, I just finished up my 2nd Grade Packets for May. Both are Common Core aligned and walk that fine line between being highly rigorous and fostering student independence.
If you want to see what they are all about, I put freebie pages from both collections {math and reading} down below. Simply click on the pictures to snag the pages. If you like what you see, come on back and treat yourself to the whole pack or a bundle ;)
If you teach first grade, no worries . . . I have some for your too. I made these last year and I really dig using them with my own crew. Again, I have free pages up for grabs on these too (math is HERE and reading is HERE).
I love these! and I think they were a hit when my principal popped in for my eval! :)
ReplyDeleteYou made my night with this one. Thanks Amanda :)
DeleteI hope you feel better soon, I know it is rough when you are injured and have to stop the computer. I have a tendency to pink a nerve in my neck which makes typing and texting painful.

Frampton's FUNdamentals
Thanks Sara. It's amazing how much we take the little things (like working body parts) for granted. Never again I tell ya!!! Nerves are tricky. OUCH :(
DeleteGlad to hear you're feeling better! How about those Giants today!?! Can we say SWEEP!

First Grade Blue SKies
Thanks Jennifer :) I am getting there.
DeleteLove these.... do you ever plan on making morning work for grade 3?
ReplyDeleteI have thought about it, but I have never taught 3rd. That makes me nervous. I haven't ruled it out quite yet. It may be a summer project :)
