I started this process more than 3 hours ago and I just finished. Although my butt and upper back are a little sore, I must say that this has been a wonderful way to really "wrap my head" around the next five - who knew??!!?? On that note . . . here you be . . . hopefully, I will "knock it out of the park" this week.
**Thank you KG Fonts and Mr. Magician . . . you made my plans look great! |
This week is going to be fast and furious as it's the last round before Turkey Break, the first trimester just closed, and we have our Annual Thanksgiving Performance on Thursday night.
With this said, this is simply an overview of what's on deck. I definitely teach on the fly . . . it's just my style. Don't get me wrong, my whole week is prepped and ready to go. However, I read my babes and pick and pull different lessons/activities throughout the day. For example . . . if I know the complex write I have planned just ain't gonna fly (kids are pretty easy to read), I'll pull it and toss in a more laid back activity. I'll circle back to that detailed write later in the day or the following day. Sure, my plan book is a hot mess by the end of the week, but this has proven to be very effective for me.
I also dig for new things throughout the week. I am a freak like that. I get up at 5:00 and am out the door by 7:00, but it doesn't take me that long to get ready. I waste a TON of time sitting at my computer in the morning. I like to browse blogs and/or TPT with a hot cup of coffee in hand. I also come up with some of my best ideas in the shower. So, I am often frantically working to create that worksheet/game that I just thought up before I head off to school. Nighttime creating just doesn't work for me. I am seriously toasted by the end of the day (like fall asleep on the couch around 6:30 every night for 20-30 minutes toasted). Therefore, I am an early morning or weekend creator :) That's probably way more than you needed or even wanted to know . . . hehehe (always the talker over here)! When do you work best??
Anyway, I hope y'all dig my plans and maybe find a fun new product that is just what you are looking for. So many bloggy buddies are helping me get through this round . . . thanks friends :) Hop on over to Mrs. Wills Kindergarten to check out the rest of the posts in her Peek At My Week Linky.
Alright, I am O-U-T. It's shower time. The boy will be home in an hour or so and I want to look somewhat "purdy" for him. Be sure you take a moment to enter the Blog Hoppin' Giveaway. Today is the final day and it's one that you definitely do not want to miss.
Love it! I've been wanting to try my hand at making visual plans, too, but wonder if the time is worth the effort. I haven't figured out a good system, and I don't always use linkable products. I'll have to try it out soon!
