FIVE FOR FRIDAY + MORNING WORK FREEBIE

Three in a row??!!  I think we can officially say that it's a streak!  BOOM!  So excited to be linking up with Doodle Bugs to bring you my own whack-a-doo version of Five for Friday!

Random Moment #1
With St. Pat's falling on Sunday, the kids made traps and left them over the weekend to see if we just might catch ourselves a little leprechaun.  (Yes, there was a moment on Monday morning that I thought to myself . . . "WHAT DID I DO!!!"  However, the magic of the moment took over and I let go.)  It seems that a pesky little leprechaun did manage to break into our room and trash the place with his dirty green footprints and glitter magic sometime during the weekend.  Although he made off with all of our "gold," he did leave some candy coins in return and a silly little note . . .

Love the magical look on this little darling's face . . . hook, line, + sinker!
Random Moment #2
One of my bloggy besties saved my bacon during math rotations this week. Susan Moran from T.G.I.F (Thank God It's First Grade) made the most delightful Addition with 3-Addends Packet and it carried us through many of our afternoons.  Here's one of our favorite games in action - Missing Number Mystery!
My little babies hard at work!  Thanks Suz!!
Random Moment #3
Another bloggy buddy of mine, The Bubbly Blonde, created the most awesomest freebie ever (yes, I just used awesomest as a describing word . . . it's that good).  With our third and final trimester just getting going, it only made sense to slip this amazing craftivity into the mix . . . Two Stars and a Wish.  The kids used this craft to celebrate two things they were proud of academically (2 stars).  Then, they set a goal for the next trimester (a wish).  To read more about it, check out Bubbly's post HERE.  The kids loved getting to shine and these cute little pockets look fan-tab-u-lis in our window.

They look so proud . . . thanks Bubbly!!
Random Moment #4
My math board had word problems the kiddos wrote from back around Valentine's Day and it was in desperate need of a makeover.  Well, my rockin' teaching partner rolled with my fact family butterfly craftivity today while I was at physical therapy - it's part of my Insect Math Packet.  She took it a bit of a different way, but I absolutely love them.

Random Moment #5
I pumped my new favorite band (Shiny Toy Guns) and managed to finish up my April Good Morning Work (Math) Packet yesterday.  Never mind that I had to refocus quite a few times as I started singing and dancing around my office . . . but, I digress.  Despite my "attention issues," I definitely upped the ante in this jam-packed set and it covers many new concepts.  I still was very mindful of what I feel firsties can do independently at this time, but the challenge is still present (I promise)!

This collection covers addition, subtraction, word problems, 3-addend addition, fact families, place value, expanded notation, odd vs. even, time, fractions, date writing, and so much more!

As promised yesterday, I am offering up the try 'em before you buy them deal. Click on the link below to snag three pages to try out with your kiddos.  If you like what you see unfold in your classroom, come on back and snag the whole GMW pack.

Oh, and for all you bundle purchasers out there . . . I recently updated the file to include this new math packet.  Re-download to snag these goods.  My Good Morning Work (Reading) Packet for April will be out by the end of the weekend and I'll be updating that bundle at this time as well!!  (It's a great deal if you haven't checked it out yet!!)

Alright, I'm O-U-T!  I have a date with my couch, dog, and beloved DVR.  The hubs is in Reno with the boys living up March Madness, so I am flying solo tonight and tomorrow (we won't even begin to talk about my sad as all get out busted bracket . . . darn you Harvard and Mississippi).  I'll see you Sunday with another little something . . . thanks for visiting friends.

  2. Right! All these upsets are making my bracket an absolute disaster! I did however pick all the 5-12 matchups correctly which is a first for me! Hopefully it turns around for you! Enjoy your date! Sounds absolutely divine!
