My kids were letting off random yelps throughout this project. The excitement was contagious and the work was wonderful. Don't worry . . . I made a much cuter template for you all to use :) |
After reading the terrific tale, I presented my kidlets with the cloze, "A _____ could carve the turkey this year, but ___________!" To help jump-start them, we brainstormed animals and discussed why they might be a problem in the turkey carving department. It was absolutely silent while they were writing with little giggle outbursts here and there.
If you are interested in slippin' this one into the mix next week, I put it in freebie form! Just click the pic below.
We also tackled Susan's Number Turkeys last Friday (TGIF - Thank God It's First Grade). They were a huge hit. You can make these with construction paper and they are even cuter, but our school doesn't have a supply closet . . . so we practiced our coloring skills with this one ;)
This pack has this amazing craft and so many other wonderful things! CLICK HERE to read more about it! |
Alright . . . where are we headed? In addition to practicing our Thanksgiving Performance (the curtain rises Thursday evening), we will be filling our time with the following UH-MAY-ZING ditties . . .
Finally today (I know . . . this is becoming a dang novel), I want to share with you my weekend. The hubs and I matched up with the sweetest friends in San Fran for the Oregon vs. Cal game. It was colder than cranberry jelly out in those stands Saturday night, but the evening was magical. And . . . I met a special someone before heading to the stadium . . .
Recognize this cutie . . . oh yeah . . . It's Michelle Griffo from Apples and ABC's. We just so happened to be in Berkeley at the same time. What a treat!! Check out her bloggy-blog. It's an absolute gem! |
For all you Ducks fans, you know what I mean when I say this is my very best "O-Face!" |
Don't tell . . . I ate a gluten filled hot dog. Yes, I paid for it, but it was oh SO good going down :) |
Boy oh boy, that was a long one. Thanks for sticking with me friends. Good luck next week. I will be back sooner rather than later with something. Not sure what yet, but something good. Oh and BTW . . . OREGON is now #1 in the AP poll :) BOOM! Watch out Kansas State we are going to challenge that BCS ranking next Saturday.
I spy some friends in this post!

Thanks Heather . . . you made my night. I do have construction paper, but I have to buy it out of a very small buy-out account or my own pocket. I get a little stingy from time to time :) Oh, and I sent you the email the other day . . . did you get it??
