GOOD MORNING WORK + CURRENTLY + SALE

Well, I am battin' 500 my sweet friends.  I finished one new packet, but not the other.  However, I managed to get some things taken care of around the house and relax a little so I am feeling pretty happy right about now.

My latest packet is something that I have used in my own classroom for 6 years now  - Good Morning Work.  Although I typically start it after Winter Break, I am going to try running with it a little earlier this year.

My goal with this beginning of the year packet is to spiral review basic reading concepts that these kiddos were introduced to in Kinder as well as those that I will be introducing/reviewing throughout the month.  I don't want to overwhelm my kiddos, but I do want them learning the "morning warm up routine" while ensuring that they build upon that strong foundation fostered by our rockin' Kinder team.  Here's a little look-see at what's included . . .

This ditty has 25 different pages to pick and choose from this month.  They review sight words (1-50), color words, rhyming, word families, vowels and consonants, ABC order, sentences, capitalization, and punctuation.  I have put #1 and #20 up for grabs down below.  Simply click on the picture to download the free sample.
JW Illustrations rocks my socks!
Each month I hope to pump out a new set that builds on itself.  October's collection will be a bit more rigorous as my kids will understand what is expected of them each morning.  To check out September's Good Morning Work Packet in more detail, click here.
Remember, everything in my TPT shop is 20% off through midnight tomorrow! I have been shopping all weekend and it's time I spread a little sale love :)

Thank you Miss Kindergarten for your rockin' sale button!

Finally, before I go, I just can't pass up an opportunity to participate in Farley's September Currently.  I am still amazed that we are knockin' on fall's door, but I am delighted as all get out.

Let's see . . . what need explainin' up there??  Well, it's 12:01 here so Happy Labor Day to me!

Mmmmmm.  What else??  Oh, I am in two fantasy leagues this year.  One is with the hubby (I am looking for serious braggin' rights around the home) and the other is with a bunch of bloggers.  Yup, you read that right!  A bunch of teacher bloggers teamed up to battle it out each and every week . . . fantasy-style.  We will have giveaways and such linked to the fun so stay tuned for a post this week that will reveal the 14 fantastic bloggers participating in this year's Top Teacher Showdown.

I think that's about all that needs my attention.  The rest kinda speaks for itself! Don't forget to link up with sweet Farley over at Oh' Boy 4th Grade!  I love reading all of the currently posts!!

Alright friends, I am off to bed.  I will see you soon :) Merry Labor Day to you and your family.  I hope it's a great one.

    1. Hi sweet friend. I have been a total bum in the blogging department too. It is SO hard to manage teaching full time and runnin' a house on top of posting/stalking. Thanks for hunting me down and sending kind words my way. I heart ya girl :)

  14. How did you become an Oregon Duck fan, living in CA. Oregon State and UofO have quite the rivalry here. I have no ties to either school....so I call my self a Playtpus

    1. Hehehehehe . . . good call Laurie. I live way north (i.e. 3 hours from the OR boarder) so So Cal teams were never my thing. I wanted to go to U of O but the parents didn't want to pay out of state . . . so I got my OR pride the next best way . . . I married a Duck :) You crack me up with your playtpus talk :)

  15. I can totally relate to your needing to get lesson planning done. Although I did plan before leaving on Friday, I brought home 'the teacher's bag' full of things to do and its sat in the same spot ever since. Always great intentions, but somehow I can't bring myself to do the paper and pencil stuff. I'd rather be blogging, surfing Pinterest for new ideas, and this and that and this and that and this and that. I'll leave the bag until the last second and if I run out of time it will get done first thing tomorrow morning. :) I can do things fast when I want to. Love your blog theme! Super cute :) I'm a newbie blogger and would love for you to hop on over and check out mine.

    1. For some reason this packet has been in the works for over a month. Don't know why, but coming up with easy stuff for the first full month killed me. They are such babies. Those next few packs should be easier (and January on is already done). Thanks for the sweet words girl!!

  17. I love this. It is so hard to find beginning of the year (mostly independent) work for the kiddos! I mean their levels are going to vary all year long but at the beginning...wow. Thanks so much! And having a sale on top of it, awesome. :)
